It looks like fans of Set It Off can either breathe easy or look for a remake elsewhere, because Issa Rae says it isn’t happening, despite rumors that the reboot would be coming from her camp.

She told Entertainment Tonight, “Oh, I would never remake a classic, I don’t know where that came from.”

Vivica Foxx will also be relieved. She told Sway, when reports first surfaced, that it should be left alone. “It’s a classic…You can do something else new, but you should leave it alone. She’s gonna bring us back with an Ouija board? How would you do a sequel to that?” Watch at the 1:46 mark.

While we won’t see Stony, Cleo, Frankie or T.T. reimagined anytime soon (at least on the big screen – a stage play starring LeToya Luckett, Kyla Pratt, Demetria McKinney and Da Brat traveled across the country in 2018), fans of Rae can see her alongside LaKeith Stanfield, Lil Rel Howery and Teyonah Parris in The Photograph, in theaters Valentines Day.
