Word on the street is that a reboot of ‘The Game’ is in the works. The chatter started amidst the release of a report claiming that The CW is working with the show’s original creator Mara Brock Akil on a new version featuring hour-long episodes.

There has been no confirmation on which familiar faces we can expect but the report hints that fans will see some of the original characters in the revival. The series was originally led by Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Pooch Hall with a supporting cast including Lauren London, Coby Bell, Hosea Chanchez, and of course Wendy Raquel Robinson.

The hit series was canceled in May 2009 after three seasons on The CW. It was then revived by BET breaking the record for most watch sitcom premiere in cable television history with 7.7 million viewers. The final season ended on the network in 2015.

Akil is known for other shows such as ‘Being Mary Jane’ and ‘Girlfriends.’
