After the success of Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear’s All in the Family and The Jeffersons, ABC is back with The Little Mermaid Live, starring Queen Latifah as Ursula and Shaggy as Ariel’s lovable best friend Sebastian.
So who did the network cast as Ariel? Auli’i Cravalho, mostly known as the voice of Moana, will take on the role.

So what about Halle Bailey? The 19-year-old two-time Grammy-nominated singer (and one half of Chloe x Halle) is still slated to appear as Ariel in the film adaptation of the iconic movie.

The Little Mermaid Live will air on ABC, Tuesday, November 5 at 8p EST as part of The Wonderful World of Disney franchise.
