Netflix has pulled the plug on Spike Lee‘s She’s Gotta Have It less than two months after its premiere. The remake of the popular 1986 film starred DeWanda Wise, Anthony Ramos, Cleo Anthony, Lyriq Bent, Chyna Lane, Margot Bingham and Ilfenesh Hadera.

Wise, mostly known for her impeccable performance in Underground shared the news on Instagram, saying farewell to her lovable character Nola Darling.

The reboot debuted on Netflix in 2017 and ran for two seasons. While this will be the end of Nola’s adventures in Brooklyn, for now (Spike is reportedly looking for a new home for the series), he’s not leaving the streaming platform just yet. The Academy Award winner’s new film, Da 5 Bloods, is described as “a war drama about Vietnam War veterans returning to the country” starring Chadwick Boseman, Delroy Lindo, Giancarlo Esposito, and Jean Reno.

She’s Gotta Have It joins the long list of popular programming that won’t return in 2020.
