According to the Jasmine Brand, Patti LaBelle has been raving about Ariana Grande and she recently made some shocking comments! The self-proclaimed diva hailed the 26-year old’s voice stating:
“She’s surpassed her peers. And she does everything herself, which is not always the way with the young baby girls. She doesn’t need any machines. She’s a baby who’s able to sing like an older black woman.”

Before you brush off what the 75-year old has to say, here’s a video of the “Victorious” actress using the voice that Patti loves so much!
Clearly, this girl can sing and has a vast range, but is she better than the living legend? Check out this video of Patti taking us to church with her live rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.
The desert selling entrepreneur also said that her four-year-old granddaughter looks up to the former child star and rocks her signature long ponytail all the time.
The two have been very close since 2014 when they performed at the Obama White House for the Women In Soul concert alongside Janelle Monae who recently came out as pansexual.
‘Girl, you’re a beast. Go up there and sing like that white-black woman you are.’ Ariana can sing me under the table—and listen, I can sing.”
Ever since then the two have had a close bond and supported each other’s careers. LaBelle has shown love by going to one of Grande’s shows this past year.
She also presented the Grammy nominee with the Billboard Woman Of The Year award in 2018. The Philadelphia native made comments during that speech that had people questioning her. She said “sing like that little white black girl that you are.”
The “On My Own” singer has always supported other singers. She has a great relationship with Mariah Carey who can also battle in a singing competetion with these two. The mother of 5 went to one of her shows and was even a bit shocked when Carey dropped the F bomb while singing “With You”.
