Remember Saw, the gory horror film that followed the story of Jigsaw, a deranged serial killer that brought all his victims together in one place along for a horrific game? Chris Rock is bringing the popular franchise back to life with a “reimagining” of sorts. The comedian will reportedly play a “police detective investigating a series of grizzly crimes.” And there’s only one person who could play his wise-cracking, lovable father, cue Samuel L. Jackson.

There aren’t many details as of now, but Rock, who copped his first Netflix special in 10 years last year, will executive produce the movie along with the film’s original creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell. From 2004 to 2017, Saw dominated the box office, becoming one of the most successful franchises of all-time, grossing $976 million at the worldwide box office and starring some of our favorites like Meagan Good, Danny Glover and Lyriq Bent.

Saw hits theaters October 23, 2020, just in time for Halloween.
