Chaka Khan sat down with Andy Cohen on the latest episode of Watch What Happens Live and shared a few words that have shocked the music industry. The icon revealed that she was never a fan of Kanye West’s manipulation of her voice for his song “Through The Wire” which samples the vocals from her hit “Through The Fire.”

Khan said the rapper called her after his infamous car accident and she was moved by his story and request to use her music and voice. However, the songstress is claiming the final result is nothing like the pair discussed.

I was pissed,” she remarked. “It was a little insulting… I thought it was stupid. If I’d known he was gonna do that, I would have said, ‘Hell no.’”

It’s likely this revelation will be news to the Chicago native rapper, as the 66-year-old singer went on to say that she has never expressed her ill feels with Mr. West.

Being featured on his debut album The College Dropout, this song is one of the most notable tracks and one of his first hits.

In case you need a reminder here’s the 2003 song of the hour.
