It’s hard to believe it’s been seven months since the death of Aretha Franklin. From the nationally televised funeral and its performances to Mary Mary and Cece Winans‘ gospel tributes to Fantasia, Andra Day and Yolanda Adams‘, fans will get to relive the Queen of Soul’s powerful voice herself in a new documentary, Amazing Grace. Originally filmed in 1972, the film reportedly was “shelved for decades until now due to numerous technical and legal issues”. It centers around her performances at the New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles.
