Gabrielle Union is busy. The new mama will hit the small screen in two projects this year, with the return of Being Mary Jane in April and her Bad Boys spin-off L.A.’s Finest and reports just confirmed she’s teaming up with Octavia Spencer to bring to life the film adaptation of Coffee Will Make You Black, the story of “a smart, funny and naive African American teenage girl finding her voice as she navigates conflicting relationships with her mother, her best friends, and her crushes amid racism, sexism and color-ism in 1960s Chicago.” Sounds interesting, right?

Union will star and produce the film under her production company I’ll Have Another (based on the title of her New York Times Best Selling book) alongside Spencer, who will also join forces as a producing partner with her company, Orit Productions.
