Erica Hall‘s bloodied body was found dead outside of her Mississippi home late Friday night. Relatives found her lying on the ground, and it’s been reported that she was stabbed multiple times and shot in the chest with a small caliber gun. The culprits have allegedly been named as her two daughters, Amariyona Hall, 14, and her 12-year-old sister.

“She was stabbed in the back. The knife was still in her back,” Erica’s aunt Robin Coney said after finding her niece dead in the yard. Coney also revealed that she was initially assaulted inside of her house, and later managed to escape outside to take her final breaths.

According to police reports, Amariyona has been arrested and is at Pike County Jail. She will be charged as an adult for the murder and is being held on a $150,000 bond. Her sister, whose name has not been released, is currently being held at the Adams County Detention Center.

A few days before the sisters allegedly murdered their mother, they attempted to run her over with their family’s car. According to investigators, the 32-year-old mother was prompted to punish her daughters for the attack by taking away their cell phones, which might have led them to this fatal act.

The young girls will reportedly undergo a mental evaluation for their unexpected behavior. “I can’t imagine what’s going on inside their minds to process that,” said Pike County Sheriff Kenny Cotton. “A mom is a mom no matter what.”

This isn’t the first time that a child has reportedly murdered a parent. Just last year, Central Michigan University student, James Eric Davis, Jr. shot his parents in his dorm room.

Amariyona is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 22 to decide her fate.
