It’s been 22 years since Robert Townsend andTroy Byers‘ teamed up on B*A*P*S*, the hilarious comedy that followed the story of two Georgia waitresses (played by Halle Berry and Natalie Desselle) who fly to Los Angeles to audition for a music video. The plan? Raise enough money as “stars” to open their dream business — a salon that doubles as a soul food restaurant.
Now Townsend, who announced he’s releasing a Five Heartbeats documentary, is gauging if fans of the cult classic, which also starred Pierre Edwards and Anthony Johnson, would want to see a reboot or sequel.
I directed Baps starring @HalleBerry and written by @Troybyer With all the reboots going on,here’s the question of the day. Would you go see a sequel to Baps? pic.twitter.com/KrlJRPgvE3
The famous director isn’t alone. Last year, both the cast of The Parkers and Flex Alexander threw around the same idea in regards to his 2001 hit, One on One, starring Kyla Pratt, Robert Ri’chard, SicilyandKelly Perine.
So we’re asking you? Who has your vote for a reboot?
