After meeting only three years ago, Master P is covering the funeral costs for a 13-year-old Kentucky activist named Ki’Anthony Tyus.

Ki’Anthony passed away after being a passenger in a reportedly stolen car that crashed into a utility pole following a police chase in Louisville. The spokesman for the Louisville Metro Police, Dwight Mitchell says police are currently examining whether the chase violated the department’s strict pursuit policy.

The No Limit Records founder took to Instagram to remind us to think about our actions: “We need to stop this black on black crime. Rip Ki’Anthony Tyus. #weallwegot Just know that every decision comes with consequences and no one is too young to die.”

Tyus met Master P in 2015 after being shot in the leg by a stray bullet while playing basketball. After that shooting, the teenager became an anti-violence activist and the face of Louisville’s “Hood 2 Hood” movement. A memorial for Ki’Anthony was held on Sunday, and his funeral is scheduled for later this week.
