Tiffany Haddish is not just using her new fur jacket to stay warm this winter, but she is using it to shed light on Black Lives Matter and police brutality.

While sporting her new fur, which was a gift from a fan, she made a bold statement and called out the animal-rights organization, PETA: “I’m about to start protesting. I’m going to wear fur every day until they stop killing Black people. When the police stop killing Black people, I’ll stop wearing fur; it’s my new protest.”

Although her stand was towards PETA, the 39-year-old is really calling out the police and their negligent brutality: “Sorry PETA. Don’t be mad at me, be mad at the police; because people are important, and so are the animals,” she said.

With the killings of Trayvon MartinFreddie GraySandra Bland and so many others who have lost their lives over the years to law enforcement abusing their power, celebrities, like Haddish, Common and Jay-Z have become vocal about the reality of society.

PETA is well-known for targeting many celebrities for their fashion choices, especially when it comes to fur and leather due to their stance on animals in the clothing trade. Earlier this year, PETA protestors ambushed Vivica A. Fox for wearing a fur while promoting her new book.
