Whatever Viola Davis touches turns to gold! And now, her production company, JuVee Productions, with her husband, Julius Tennon is partnering with Amazon Prime to produce content and entertainment that is so necessary.

This is what the power couple had to say in a statement about the boss move:

“JuVee Productions is beyond excited about our new relationship with Amazon Studios. We share the same vision of creating a vast and rich array of narratives that are inclusive and reflective of our world. We started this company with a fierce commitment to integrity and the encouragement of emerging and/or established artists who have the courage and talent to be disruptors. We are thrilled that we can continue to share our vision on a global scale alongside Amazon Studios. It is our legacy.”

The duo signed a first-look deal with the subscription service to continue to do what JuVee Productions does best, produce television, independent film, theater and digital content. Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, said in a statement: “Viola and Julius Tennon’s JuVee Productions brings distinctive, fresh voices and high-quality content to our customers in both theaters and on Prime Video.”

And distinctive, fresh voices is what we need to see in our movies and TV shows!

Currently, the acclaimed actress is working with Amazon Prime on an upcoming comedy called, “Troupe Zero,” which stars Allison Janney and Jim Gaffigan. The film is set to be released in 2019. This deal is one of many. The producer and “How to Get Away with Murder” star join Jordan Peele and Nicole Kidman as producers of Amazon content.

Davis was made for this opportunity and to tell these types of narratives. She was one of the executive producers on TV One’s original docuseries, Two Sides that tells stories, like those of Sandra Bland and Eric Garner, which spark conversation that shift the culture.

Earlier this year, Viola spoke out about the roles she regrets playing, one of them being the character of Aibileen in “The Help.” Hopefully this deal will allow her and Julius to craft meaningful and noteworthy stories and roles that fall nowhere near regret.

We can’t wait to see what they come up with!
