We’ve long since stopped calling him “Brandy‘s brother” and this new move proves, even more, why Ray J is a force to be reckoned with. The reality star and singer is going back to college! And not just any school, but an HBCU. In an Instagram post, he announced he was continuing his education at Philander Smith College, a small school in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The Unsung Hollywood star is no stranger to the HBCU culture as both of his parents are graduates of the historical institutions (Sonja Norwood went to Southern University and Willie Norwood attended Jackson State University).

Ray is no stranger to business though. Last year the new dad officially become a fixture in the world of technology when his company Raycon, signed a $31 million deal, with Cowboy Wholesale, a leading distributor of consumer electronics based in New York City.

Ray J starts classes at Philander in January. Missed his Unsung Hollywood? Found out how his wife Princess Love, got him to be a one-woman man. Watch below.
