Jill Scott is returning to television in a remake of The First Wives Club. The 1996 film famously starred Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler and Diane Keaton chronicling their lives after their marriages fall apart.
Comedian Michelle Buteau will star opposite the Grammy award-winning singer to round out two of three leads.
The 10-episode series, produced by Girls Trip co-writer Tracey Oliver, starts filming this fall in New York. Scott is no stranger to the small screen, most recently starring in Lifetime’s Flint, opposite Queen Latifah.
