The success of the Fast & Furious billion dollar franchise has led its way for the film’s first spinoff, Hobbs and Shaw, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Jason Statham.

While the two will reprise their infamous roles, a new player is coming to town – and his name is Idris Elba.
Variety reports, “The film will see the often-at-odds pair teaming up. Sources say Elba’s character is the antagonist the duo will go up against.”

Hobbs & Shaw hits theaters on July 26, 2019, while Fast & Furious 9 debuts on the big screen April 10, 2020.
