Lee Daniels is reportedly developing a Billie Holiday biopic starring Grammy winner Andra Day and actor LaKeith Stanfield (Get Out, Atlanta).

Diana Ross famously portrayed the singer in the 1972 biopic Lady Sings The Blues with Billie Dee Williams and Richard Pryor.

Seven-time Tony winner Audra McDonald also portrayed the iconic jazz singer on Broadway in Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill.

Other celebrity biopic news that will make their way to the big and small screens soon include Jerrod Carmichael‘s story of Dapper Dan and an Alvin Ailey film directed by Alicia Keys.
