This is what happens when you have a sistah in charge at ABC! Channing Dungey, the first black woman to serve as President of a major broadcast television network, has canceled Roseanne Barr‘s series after the comedian/actress referred to Barack Obama‘s former aide Valerie Jarrett (she was born in Iran) as “a Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby.”
Dungey said in a statement, “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”
Wanda Sykes, who served as a consulting producer on the reboot, announced she was leaving the show amidst Barr’s comments.
The 65-year-old has since apologized, but really, who cares.
