Unsung returns to TV One on Sunday and the new season is kicking off with the legendary R&B group, Mtume! James Mtume and Tawatha Agee made an appearance on Good Day DC earlier this week and Agee took us ALLL the way back with a performance of their classic tune, “Juicy Fruit.”

The song instantly became successful in 1983 reaching #1 on the R&B charts for eight weeks straight and is arguably one of their greatest hits. It was made even more famous when The Notorious B.I.G. sampled it in 1994 in “Juicy.” Check out a clip from the upcoming Unsung episode below of the band’s response to the cover:
The Biggie sample ended up becoming so popular that the 72-year-old called it one of the best deals he’s ever made during an interview with The Breakfast Club last year. Check it out below at the 1:30 timestamp:
