This is a Mother’s Day present Taraji P. Henson will never forget! The Empire star said yes to her boyfriend Kelvin Hayden over the weekend and we couldn’t be happier! First, the retired NFL player surprised her with $6,000 his and hers Cartier Love bracelets.

Later that day he proposed, sending the 47-year-old over moon!
The pair have been dating for about two years, confirming the news last year, telling Essence’s Yes, Girl podcast, “it finally happened.”

And we ain’t mad at it! With the renewal of the fifth season of Empire, her upcoming film What Women Want alongside Aldis Hodge and Tracy Morgan and starring and executive producing the Emmett Till biopic, the Washington, DC native has a ton on her plate. We’re just glad she made room for love!
