A little over a week ago Wendy Williams alarmed many when she canceled a week of  Wendy with no apparent explanation, four months after fainting live on television. Days later the talk show host revealed she was battling flu-like symptoms. Watch below.

Now the 53-year-old has finally announced what’s really been going on with her health. She has been diagnosed with Graves’ disease and effective Thursday, Wendy will go on a three-week hiatus.

Watch below.

So what is Graves’ disease exactly? According to the Mayo Clinic, it is an immune system disorder that results in the overproduction of thyroid hormones. Symptoms include anxiety and irritability, tremors in your hands or fingers and weight loss, despite normal eating habits.

Although a serious diagnosis. Williams promises to return. She also told CNN she will not have a fill-in host and the show will rerun old episodes during her absence.

We wish Wendy well in her recovery.
