One thing you can always count on Oprah for is putting her money where her mouth is! The media mogul stepped up and donated $500,000 to the “March For Our Lives” protest against gun violence, planned by the survivors of the Parkland, Florida school shooting.

She joined forces with George and Amal Clooney and matched their donations.

Last week, a gunman killed 17 people at  Marjory Stoneman Douglas High school in Parkland, Florida. The survivors are taking action and speaking out to hold government officials accountable, and to confront the National Rifle Association.

The mission statement on the website created by the survivors reads, “March For Our Lives is created by, inspired by, and led by students across the country who will no longer risk their lives waiting for someone else to take action to stop the epidemic of mass school shootings that has become all too familiar,” the mission statement continued, “Change is coming. And it starts now, inspired by and led by the kids who are our hope for the future.”

The “March For Our Lives” protest will take place on March 24th in Washington, D.C.

TELL US: What do you think about the generous donation?
