Viola Davis is sick and tired of settling for less than she deserves in Hollywood! The Julliard trained actress sat down with journalist, Tina Brown, at the Women In The World L.A. Salon and opened up about feeling overlooked in comparison to her counterparts.

“I have a career that’s probably comparable to Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore, Sigourney Weaver,” said the How To Get Away With Murder actress. “They all came out of Yale, they came out of Juilliard, they came out of NYU. They had the same path as me, and yet I am nowhere near them. Not as far as money, not as far as job opportunities, no where close to it.”

“People say, ‘You’re a black Meryl Streep … We love you. There is no one like you,” she explained. “OK, then if there’s no one like me, you think I’m that, you pay me what I’m worth.”

Well you heard the Tony Award Winning actress! She’s coming for everything she deserves, and she absolutely should.

Davis has won an Oscar, and was the first Hollywood actress in 2017 to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but she has no intentions on settling. Equal pay continues to be a struggle that black actresses deal with, and the award winning actress wants her bank account to reflect her qualifications.
