Imagine one’s surprise when J. Holiday is Trending on Twitter at number four in 2018. Nowadays there’s one of two thoughts when celebrities enter that coveted top 20 on the social media platform, either they said something controversial or God forbid they’ve died. Thankfully the latter was not the case when it came to the 33-year-old Bed singer, but fans will be surprised to find him trashing Beyoncé, SZA and Cardi B.

In a profanity laced tyrant about how hard it is to be a black man, Holiday calls out the three artists for using their pain to prosper in music. Namely their most recent Grammy nominations and the lack of nods men received this year.

“…stop using that f-cking pain to make it okay to say some bull sh-t on your record…you’re nominated for a Grammy for going through some bull sh-t, cause so have I…as a black mother f-cking man.”

Um. Say what now? He does mention in the caption that he’s still hurt over his 2009 loss to Mary J. Blige, but this is pretty random and wholly inaccurate, considering there are a number of men nominated for this year’s Grammys, including JAY-Z who used the pain (that J. Holiday says men don’t use) from almost losing his wife to making an album that earned seven nods.

And of course Black Twitter had a field day with this one.

Ouch.
