Grammy Award-winning singer Edwin Hawkins died on January 15, 2018, in Pleasanton, California. He was 74 years old.
According to his publicist, Bill Carpenter, he died of pancreatic cancer.
Hawkins is most famous for merging gospel and secular sounds in his crossover hit ‘Oh Happy Day’ in 1969.
