CONGRATULATIONS! DeWanda Wise Lands Her Biggest Role Yet

DeWanda Wise, the star of Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It, will be co-starring in Captain Marvel opposite Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, and Ben Mendelsohn.

Wise took the role just after Netflix renewed She’s Gotta Have It, for the second season. The cult classic is the series adaptation of Spike Lee’s 1986 indie romance about a woman balancing a life with three lovers.

This is the first major movie role for Wise, who previously starred in the series Shots Fired and Underground.
