In a tense election, the city of Atlanta has named its new mayor, 47-year-old former Councilwoman Keisha Lance Bottoms!

After a runoff election against fellow Atlanta City Councilwoman Mary Norwood, the Florida A&M University graduate took her rightful place behind the podium after last night’s win. Watch below.

So who is Lance Bottoms? The wife and mother of four is an Attorney, former judge and former executive director of Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority. Member of the Atlanta City Council. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, the Dogwood City Chapter of The Links, Inc. and the Atlanta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
