Congressman John Conyers Jr. announced that he is stepping down amongst claims of sexual harassment. In an interview with Radio One’s Mildred Gaddis, he went on to say that the claims are false but he will retire as his health is one of his main concerns.

The Congressman called in from an undisclosed hospital to not only announce his retirement but to endorse his son John Conyers III to replace him. “We are all working together to make this country a better one… To make equality and just more available for any.”

Mr. Conyers thanks, supporters in his district and around the world, but restated that “allegations are not accurate and are not true”.
