Over the summer, the city of Minnesota revealed they would pay the family of Philando Castile, a $3 million settlement, and now Castile’s girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds will receive an $800,000 payout for emotional distress and false arrest.
According to the agreement, Reynolds is expected to get $675,000 from the city of St. Anthony, Minnesota, along with an additional $125,000 from the city of Roseville and the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust.
Officer Jeronimo Yanez was acquitted of any wrongdoing, after he shot 32-year-old Castile seven times in 2016 in front of his four-year-old daughter. The horrific murder was streamed on Facebook Live by Reynolds.
