Kenya Moore Talks RHOA fights & Stepping into Reality

Runway Red Celebrity Kids Fashion Show

As you could tell from the premiere episode, Kenya Moore is doing her best to standout on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. And what better way to standout than act a little haughty, a wee bit bitchy, and all around antagonistic. However, I’m sure Kenya is a lovely person off camera.

In any event, the former Miss USA turned reality star discussed her role on the new season of the hit series with the New York Post — why she got into a fight, what it’s like being around the women of the show, and whether she had any inhibitions about entering the world of reality.

On her fight with NeNe Leakes:

“Listen, we were in Anguilla. There were people that were being rude, obnoxious, distasteful, and that doesn’t sit well with me and so I had a very visceral response and NeNe was definitely a part of that,” Moore tells The Post. “It’s definitely an episode that people will want to watch.”

On how her relationships with her cast members differ from women in Hollywood:

“I’ve been best friends with people like Tyra Banks and Tracey Edmonds and Shaun Robinson,” Moore said. “We have a great sisterhood. We’re supportive of each other. We’re kind to each other, and we’re good girlfriends.

“I didn’t experience that fighting in my normal life in Hollywood. It is definitely a marked difference to me in the Atlanta situation.”

On whether she had any hesitations about joining the popular Bravo show:

“You know what, I’ve been in worse situations. I’m a fighter, I’m from Detroit,” she said. “I’m very resilient. I’m really not afraid of anything. So, some reality stars from Atlanta? No, I wasn’t afraid of any of them. I’ve been to the Academy Awards, I’m not afraid of a ‘Housewife’!”

On her experiences filming the new season:

“You know what, I’ve been in worse situations. I’m a fighter, I’m from Detroit,” she said. “I’m very resilient. I’m really not afraid of anything. So, some reality stars from Atlanta? No, I wasn’t afraid of any of them. I’ve been to the Academy Awards, I’m not afraid of a ‘Housewife’!”
