Laurence Fishburne Files For Divorce From Gina Torres

After photos surfaced of actress Gina Torres kissing another man a few months ago, many of us wrote the questionable photos off as her being in character for a new film. Others weren’t so kind. After rumors of cheating made its round on social media, Torres released a statement to People revealing she and husband Laurence Fishburne had been separated for over a year.

“With heavy hearts, Laurence and I quietly separated and began the dissolution of our marriage in the early fall of last year. There are no bad guys here. Only a love story with a different ending than either one of us had expected.”

She continued, “Happily, however, our family remains intact and we will continue to raise our daughter together with love and joy and awe. As well as raise each other up with respect and love and the continued understanding that we’re in this together, if not side by side.”

Fishburne has since taken the lead with divorce, filling the official papers this week, according to TMZ. “Laurence cites irreconcilable differences for why he wants out. They were married on September 22, 2002. He checked the boxes for joint legal and physical custody of their 10-year-old daughter, Delilah and wants to block the judge from giving either of them receiving spousal support.”

Laurence has two kids Langston and Montana, from a previous relationship.
