This could be the beginning of the end for the Trump regime! Monday, President Trump’s former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, was indicted on money laundering charges. He stands accused of funneling millions of dollars through overseas shell companies and spending the money on cars, real estate, expensive clothes, antiques and a whole bunch of other stuff not related to campaign strategy.

Mr. Manafort surrendered to the F.B.I. early Monday morning and was due in court that afternoon. He is facing a potential prison sentence of up to 20 years.

Now, what does that have to do with Trump?

Mr. Manafort, a veteran Republican strategist, joined the Trump campaign in March 2016 to help keep delegates from breaking with Mr. Trump in favor of more traditional Republican candidates. It didn’t take long before Trump promoted him to chairman and chief strategist, giving him control over day-to-day campaign operations.

It was only after reports that Manafort received more than $12 million in undisclosed payments from Viktor F. Yanukovych, the former Ukrainian president and a pro-Russia politician, that Trump quickly fired him.

While Trump vehemently denies any collusion with the Russian government to win the election, with secret meeting after secret meeting being exposed, we can’t help but take his word with a grain of salt.

We already know Russian President Vladimir V. Putin launched a stealth propaganda campaign to damage Hillary Clinton and help Trump win the election. The New York Times revealed in July that Manafort and others close to Mr. Trump met with Russians last year, under the premise of receiving damaging information about Clinton. Now that the Justice Department’s investigation is well underway, it’s only a matter of time before Trump is impeached the truth is revealed.
