Actress Tracee Ellis Ross pens an essay reflecting on our former First Lady Michelle Obama for ‘Courage Is Contagious: And Other Reasons to Be Grateful for Michelle Obama‘. Ross opens her letter reflecting on her visits to Washington events and how it felt different once the Obamas moved in.
Ross says “it’s not the White Hosue that made [Michelle Obama] who she is. She is who she is, and its something we were reminded of time and again during her final year there.”
Michelle Obama was not only our first black first lady; she was President Barack Obama’s partner in marriage and parenthood advocating for education, nutrition, and women’s rights. 19 essays from writers, Hollywood stars, and political leaders contributed.
The book was released in October.
