Tyler Perry will star in his first biopic in an upcoming Adam McKay film.

The 48-year-old writer, producer and actor will portray Colin Powell in the movie about former Vice-President Dick Cheney (played by Christian Bale).

Deadline reports,“Powell is the four-star general who served as Bush Administration’s Secretary of State pressed the case for the 2003 invasion of Iraq, based on intelligence that Saddam Hussein was manufacturing weapons of mass destruction. None of the weapons Powell cited in his presentation to the United Nations was recovered after Iraq was routed.”

Lisa Gay Hamilton will portray Condoleezza Rice and Steve Carrell will play Donald Rumsfeld.

It’ll be interesting to see Perry in a role such as this one, as he’s only played a few serious roles (Gone Girl, Alex Cross).
