All of Black America was excited to hear that one of our greatest historic leaders would be honored on the 20 dollar bill.

That excitement has now been dampened with the possibility that the Trump administration could shut the entire operation down:

According to reports, the idea of placing Harriet Tubman on the 20 dollar bill originally proposed by Jack Lew of the Obama administration, is no longer on the list of important things of current Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin.

Mnuchin tells CNBC:

“The number-one issue why we change the currency is to stop counterfeiting. So the issues of what we change will be primarily related to what we need to do for security purposes. I’ve received classified briefings on that. And that’s what I’m focused on for the most part. People have been on the bills for a long period of time. And this is something we will consider. Right now, we’ve got a lot more important issues to focus on.”

Of  course, people are pissed:

We’ll have to see how this plays out.
