Houston Rockets superstar James Harden recently donated $100,000 to Texas Southern University  and the funds will be designated toward scholarships for students in financial need.

TSU’s President Austin Lane told Fox 26 Houston“For us, that’s amazing, given the population of students that we serve come from what I consider to be one of the lowest socioeconomic backgrounds in the city, if not, the state or the country. To have that kind of an opportunity from someone like James Harden, who can help further the educational careers of those students and help their dreams come true, is just phenomenal to be able to have that kind of support from a local icon like him.”

And the HBCU love didn’t stop there. Chance The Rapper took to Twitter over the weekend to show love to Clark Atlanta University, even revealing he wants to attend the Atlanta institution.

And it wasn’t long before Atlanta’s other famous HBCU, Morehouse College,  chimed in.

Of course CAU had a few words for their rivals.

Ha!

We’re just glad the 24-year-old is thinking about continuing his education…and at an HBCU no less.
