In very white people news, Hollywood couple Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon recently learned they were related.
The pair, who’ve been married for 29 years, were the subject of PBS’ Finding Your Roots a few years ago when they first made the connection that they were distant cousins. The show, hosted by Henry Louis Gates Jr. gets into the “DNA of American culture” and features celebrities to trace their ancestral history.
Over the weekend the Closer star shared the news at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour to promote her new ABC drama, Ten Days in the Valley. She jokingly replied, “I figured I was going to be related to Kevin Bacon — I mean, most white people are related.”
Oh? Sedgwick and Bacon tied the knot in 1988 and have two adult kids together.
