While visiting The Howard Stern Show, Jamie Foxx opened up about his past battles with alcohol. The Academy Award-winning actor, comedian, singer and now game show host, admitted he abused alcohol to the point where Oprah had to step in and intervene.
According to TMZ, back in 2005, right after Ray, he was drinking and partying way too much. Apparently, Oprah Winfrey, media mogul and part-time fairy godmother, saved him. She told Fox “straight-up” he was ruining his career, saying “All of this gallivanting and all this kind of s**t that’s not what you want to do. I want to take you somewhere.”
The pair met up at Quincy Jones’s house for a “legends of the industry” intervention. Sidney Poitier, standing in a tuxedo, tells Foxx, “I want to give you responsibility.” Needless to say, Jamie Foxx broke down in tears and changed his life.
