What started out as a Black Twitter dream, is now becoming a #BlackGirlMagic reality thanks to Netflix.

A tweet created by @1800sADGAL flaunting a half-serious movie idea reached the attention of Lupita Nyong’o, Rihanna, Ava Duvernay, and Issa Rae, so much that the movie has been greenlit and will go into production next year:

Here is how it all went down:

According to reports, Netflix took on the project after beating out competitors during an aggressive bid during the Cannes film festival. With all the ladies seeming to be on board, word is still out on whether Issa Rae is confirmed to write the screenplay of the Netflix comedy. Of course, it would only be right. And since we have all this #Blackgirlmagic, should Oprah be involved as the executive producer? From what we’ve already witnessed, anything is possible.
