Jay Schneider oversees technology, network operations, satellite distribution and information technology, as well as administration and real estate management for the network.
Mr. Schneider was Senior Vice President of Production, Operations and Engineering services of Discovery Communications from 1999 until 2003, where he was responsible for network operations, engineering and production support for all of Discovery’s U.S. and internationally based networks. While at Discovery, he also oversaw design and construction of the company’s first internal corporate television production facility. He joined Discovery in 1997 as Vice President of Engineering and Technical Development.
Before joining Discovery, he had extensive experience in broadcast technical operations, having served as Associate Director of Broadcast Distribution Systems for the CBS Television Network; Director of Engineering for the Museum of Television & Radio’s New York technical facility; a Manager of Engineering Projects at the NBC Television Network; and an Engineer and Operations Supervisor at NBC Radio Networks. He began his broadcasting career at WBLS-FM/WLIB-AM Radio in New York.
