In a rare interview with Houston’s Fox 26, Mathew Knowles revealed that he had big plans for a Destiny’s Child stage play that includes...Idris Elba?

Yep. Later this year Knowles’ will write and produce a stage production about the iconic trio and has cast the British heart-throb as himself.

Despite rumors of a strained relationship with daughters Beyonce and Solange, Knowles also shared that he speaks to his girls weekly. And those rumors that Bey has banned him from the delivery room when the twins are born — “that’s a bold face lie” he says.

While the working relationship between Beyonce and Knowles ended in 2011, the hustle hasn’t slowed down for the 65-year old. His label Music World Entertainment just celebrated 25 years in business, he manages Blush, a Houston-based girl group, and he’s in his ninth year as a professor at Texas Southern University. He also released his book, The DNA of Achievers: 10 Traits Of Highly Successful People in 2016.

Honestly, who better to tell the story of the international best-selling girl-group other than the man who created them?
