Founded in 1901, Grambling State University offers its students the advantages of a small college with the academic power of a large university. GSU is one the top producers of African-American graduates in the United States. Through its five colleges, GSU offers more than 800 courses of study and 68 degree programs. Popular majors include Business, Communications, Criminal Justice and Nursing. For a more enriching college experience, Grambling has dozens of student groups and organizations to fit each student’s personal interest. Among the student groups is the infamous Grambling Tiger Marching Band. Formed in1926, the Tiger Marching Band is the number one collegiate show band in the world. They have performed on commercials and television shows, and were featured in the motion picture Drumline. Grambling State University continues its tradition of excellence.
