Founded in 1887, Florida A&M University is a public, historically black research institution. FAMU began with only 15 students and two teachers. Now more than 100 years later, FAMU has grown to almost 12,000 students and is the only HBCU in State University Center of Florida. Through its 13 schools and colleges, FAMU offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees in numerous fields of study.
