Chattanooga State Community College was established in 1965 to meet the demand of workers in engineering technology and computer science. Chatt State is organized into eight academic divisions. The school awards associate degrees and certificates in several fields of study. Many students attend Chatt State for two years or less before moving on to a major university to complete a Bachelor’s degree. Some credits from Chatt State transfer to institutions in the Tennessee Board of Regents, allowing students to enter a senior-level university as juniors. Chattanooga State is a leader in community and workforce training. It is the school’s mission to transform the lives of its students and prepare them to successfully enter the workforce.
