Rhodes College was founded in 1848. Rhodes is sectioned into 20 academic departments. Each department awards undergraduate and graduate degrees in various fields of study. Popular majors include Business, English, Psychology and Biomedical Sciences; students may minor in African American Studies. Rhodes has more than 100 student groups and organizations, including the Black Student Association and four of the historically black fraternities and sororities. Rhodes hosts numerous activities on campus each year. From step shows to music concerts featuring popular artists from all genres, students are certain to find a group or activity to spark their individual interests and skills. For more than 160 years, Rhodes College has been a highly respected institution of liberal arts. Students not only learn in the classroom, they receive real-world experiences through research, internships and community service.
