Dartmouth College was found in 1769 by Congregational minister Eleazar Wheelock. Dartmouth’s mission is to provide superior education to its students. Through its four academic colleges, Dartmouth awards undergraduate and graduate degrees in various fields of study. Popular majors include Economics, Political Science, Psychology and Engineering. The university has more than 200 student groups and organizations to keep students active on campus and in the community. African-American students may choose to participate in the Black Underground Theater Association, Gospel Choir or Ujima, the student-run dance troupe. Through the Outdoor Programs Office, Dartmouth hosts various outdoor recreational activities such as snowboarding, ice-skating and skiing. With superior academics and a productive campus life, students receive the ultimate college experience at Dartmouth College.
