Go, Big Orange! The University of Tennessee at Knoxville is home to one of the best athletic departments in the country. Founded in 1794, UTK is a land-grant, research-intensive university. UTK offers over 300 fields of study through its 11 colleges. Some of the university’s most popular major include Political Science, Psychology and Biology. Outside the classroom, students can get involved on campus through the more than 400 student groups. Among those student organizations are some of the National Pan-Hellenic fraternities and sororities. Activities include skydiving, movie nights, poetry slams and much more.
