President Obama surprised Vice President Joe Biden today by presenting him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest honor. And we think it’s well deserved.
As an emotional Biden tried to fight back tears, the President offered reasons why he deserved the prestigious honor.
“For your faith in your fellow Americans, for your love of country and for your lifetime of service that will endure through the generations,” Obama said in the White House ceremony.
Before presenting his last Medal of Freedom, Obama praised Biden, his wife Dr. Jill Biden and family, according to CNN.com.
“If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person you’ve got a problem,” Obama said. “He’s as good a man as god ever created.”
