It’s hard being the daughter of a soul legend when you’re trying to be your OWN legend. That is, if you’re NOT Lalah Hathaway — the Grammy-winning singer who has created her own legacy with hits like “Forever, For Always, For Love” and “Something.”

Today, the Chicago-native is celebrating a big birthday and we thought a great gift would be sharing her award-winning rendition of her father’s song “Little Ghetto Boy,” which she performed on “Donnie After Dark.”
